About Silicon Valentine

Silicon Valentine measures AI companion apps: AI girlfriends, AI boyfriends and AI friends. Instead of opinions, we run every app through the same tests and publish what we measured, with the date and the evidence.

Why this site exists

AI companion apps are easy to start and hard to judge. Do they remember what you told them last week? What do they cost after the first month? What happens to your chats, and how do you get out? Most reviews answer these questions with impressions. We answer them with a fixed protocol: the same prompts, the same memory probes on days 1, 7 and 14, the same privacy and pricing checks for every app. Here is how it works.

Who is behind it

Silicon Valentine is run from Olching, Germany (see the imprint). The tests follow a fixed protocol, are partly automated and are checked against the test logs before publishing.

About “Val”

Val is the pen name under which the person who runs Silicon Valentine signs its pages and emails. There is no photo and no made-up biography: what we know about an app comes from our test logs and the app's own pages, never from personal stories.

How the site is funded

It is not, for now. There are no ads, no affiliate links, no paid placements and no sponsored posts. Links to apps are marked nofollow. Some companies give us free test access so we can measure their paid features; when they do, the review says so. The details are in our editorial policy.
